The University Police Department's K-9 program is staffed by one officer and our K-9 'Benny'. Benny is trained in the detection of explosives. Benny is a yellow lab from Czechoslovakia and was placed in patrol service in 2006; at that time he was a year and half old. His handler, Sgt. Rusty Romine, and Benny are members of the Region 3 Response Team for Homeland Security.
