UAPD Responds To Weapons Report – UPDATED 8/22 –

Updated Information about the incident on 8/21:

On Friday evening, August 21, the University Community was notified of an incident involving an individual carrying a gun on campus. Shortly following the report to UAPD, officers made contact with two non-UA persons that matched the description in the report. It was determined that even though the weapon was legally owned, carrying it on campus was a violation of the University’s Dangerous Weapons and Firearm Policy. The weapon was stored for safety and the individuals were trespassed from campus. No additional charges have been filed.

On Friday, Aug. 21, around 10:20 p.m., UAPD was alerted to a potential person of interest carrying a gun on campus. Two suspects were taken into custody by UAPD without incident. There is no threat to the campus community.
