Student safety is the University’s top priority. Many UAPD officers were actively engaged in the investigation of an alleged incident at the Magnolia Parking Deck over the weekend, which turned out to be an unfounded report.
A police safety advisory or UA alert will be sent to the campus community when a credible report is made. Information about the incident was not sent as an advisory because there was not a true threat to the campus community.
Unfortunately, social media and other chat apps facilitate the spread of rumors and misinformation.
UAPD and the communications team take every threat and report seriously, and we are committed to notifying our campus community when appropriate. We will do all we can to help protect the safety of our students and our campus.
