University Police Investigate Robbery – 02/11/13

UPDATE:

ARRESTS MADE IN ROBBERY CASES

University Police Department investigators were able to develop information leading to the identification of suspects in the robberies described below. Three suspects were arrested on February 11, 2013 for two counts of second degree robbery each, with a fourth suspect arrested for fraudulent use of a credit/ debit card relating to the case.

February 11, 2013

UNIVERSITY POLICE INVESTIGATE ROBBERY

University Police are investigating the report of two robberies that occurred on February 11, 2013, the first at approximately 12:35 am and the second at approximately 1:20 am in the 800 block of Campus Drive and the 200 block of 7th Avenue. Two UA students reported that they were approached by two individuals asking for a light before being struck in the head and their belongings taken. The individuals are believed to have been occupying a dark colored SUV. No weapons were reported. The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect 1:

  • Male
  • Dark complexion
  • Slim build
  • Approximately 6’00 to 6’02”
  • Possibly with dreadlock hairstyle
  • Wearing black wind suit with a red beanie style hat

Suspect 2:

  • Male
  • Medium to dark complexion
  • Stocky build
  • Average height
  • Wearing blue jeans and a rain coat

UNIVERSITY POLICE INVESTIGATE THEFT

The University Police are investigating a theft that occurred in the 500 block of Campus Drive. On May 30, 2014 at approximately 12:30 am, one individual reported he was a victim of a theft. The victim reported that four suspects occupying a green Jeep Cherokee drove passed him as he was walking along Campus Drive, then shortly returned and stopped near him.  Two suspects exited the vehicle and asked to use the  victim’s cell phone, and victim allowed them to use it.  The suspects then entered the vehicle and fled the area with the victim’s cell phone still in their possession.  The victim sustained minor injuries as he tried to grab one of the fleeing suspects. The suspects are described as follows:Suspect 1:

Slim build
Approximately 5’9
Short hairstyle
Wearing black shorts and a gray shirtSuspect 2:

UNIVERSITY POLICE INVESTIGATE ROBBERY

The University Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue. On April 27, 2014 at approximately 2:50 am, two individuals reported that they were the victims of a robbery. The victims reported that the suspect approached them from behind, pointed a pistol at them and told the victims to give him their money. The victims complied and the suspect fled the area northbound on Fraternity Lane. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as follows:Suspect:

  • Male
  • Dark complexion
  • Slim build
  • Approximately 5’09”
  • Wearing a black hat, red shirt and tan cargo shorts
  • Possibly occupying an older model sedan

UNIVERSITY POLICE INVESTIGATE ROBBERY

The University Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred in the 800 block of 2nd Street on campus. On 12-9-13 at approximately 6:08 p.m., an individual reported that she was the victim of a robbery. The victim reported that while walking behind a residence hall on 2nd Street, an unknown individual stepped out in front of her and demanded money. The victim insisted repeatedly that she had none and she was pushed to the ground. The victim got up and fled the area. Nothing was taken from the victim and no weapons or injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as follows:

Male
-Light complexion
-Medium build
-Approximately 6 ft  in height
-Wearing black clothing and a black ski mask
