Tuscaloosa Police Investigate Off-Campus Robbery – 08/25/12

TUSCALOOSA POLICE INVESTIGATE ROBBERY

The Tuscaloosa Police Department is investigating two robberies that occurred off campus. On 8-25-12 at approximately 2:27 a.m., two UA students reported that that they were the victims of a robbery. The victims reported that while walking in the area of the 1100 block of 13th Street a maroon Ford sedan, possibly a Ford Focus or Ford Taurus, pulled alongside them. The occupants of the vehicle gained the victims’ attentions by speaking to them and then displayed a weapon. The two female victims gave them their purses and ran away. The victims were not injured.
On 8-25-12, at approximately 2:30 a.m., another robbery was reported by a UA student. The student reported that she was walking in the area of the 1200 Block of 13th Street when a male passenger exited a white or tan Chevrolet Impala and approached her asking for her property, which she gave to him. The male suspect got back into the vehicle and fled the scene. The victim was not injured.
The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect one:

  • Male
  • Medium complexion
  • Approximately 6’00” in height
  • Thin build

Suspect two:

  • Male
  • Medium complexion
  • Wearing dark bandana.
  • White shirt
  • Dark jeans
