The University of Alabama Police Department is divided into four sections: Administration, Operations, Strip Precinct and Support. These sections are outlined in the organizational charts shown below. Download the UAPD Organizational Chart.

The UAPD Administration organizational chart begins with the Chief of Police at the top. Directly under the Chief is the Deputy Chief, as well as the Executive Assistant for Police Business. Directly under the Deputy Chief is the Captain over support, the Captain over the Strip Precinct and the Captain over operations. Directly under the Captain over support is the Lieutenant of criminal investigations and the sergeant over the training division. Directly under the Captain over the Strip Precinct is the Lieutenant over the Strip Precinct. Directly under the Captain over operations is the Lieutenant of Alpha Watch and the K9 unit, the Lieutenant of Bravo Watch and the Traffic Unit and the Lieutenant for Special Event Planning. Under the Executive Assistant for Police Business is Administrative Support and Police Records. Everyone on this organizational chart are sworn officers except for the Executive Assistant of Police Business, Administrative Support and Police Records.

At the top of the UAPD Operations Organizational Chart is the Chief of Police. Directly under the Chief of Police is the Deputy Chief. Directly under the Deputy Chief is the Captain over Operations. Under the Captain over Operations is the Alpha, Bravo and Special Event Planning Lieutenants. Under the Alpha Lieutenant is the Alpha Day Watch Sergeant, two Alpha Evening Watch Sergeants, and the Alpha Night Watch Sergeant. Under the Bravo Lieutenant is the Bravo Day Watch Sergeant, two Bravo Evening Watch Sergeants, the Bravo Night Watch Sergeant and the Traffic Division. Under all of the sergeants are officers. Everyone shown on this organizational chart are sworn officers.

The UAPD Strip Precinct Organizational Chart show the Chief of Police at the top. Under the Chief of Police is the Deputy Chief. Under the Deputy Chief is the Strip Precinct Captain. Under the Strip Precinct Captain the Strip Precinct Lieutenant and Sergeant. Under the Strip Precinct Lieutenant and Sergeant are the officers. Everyone shown on this organizational chart are sworn personnel.The UAPD Support Organizational Chart begins with the Chief of Police at the top. Under the Chief of Police is the Deputy Chief. Under the Deputy Chief is Internal Affairs and the Captain over Support. Under the Captain over Support is Security Resources, Police Communications, the Lieutenant and Sergeant over Criminal Investigations, the Officer over the Electronics Crime Unit, the Communications Technician and the Administrative Sergeant. Under the Security Resources sworn officer is the Security Resources Operations Manager. Under the Security Resources Operations Manager is the Security Resources Assistants and the Security Resources Administrative Specialist. Under the Lieutenant and Sergeant of Criminal Investigations are officers, the Sergeant assigned to threat assessment, officers assigned to behavioral intervention, and officers assigned to task forces. Under the Administrative Sergeant is the community relations officer, training officers, evidence custodian, accreditation standards officer and officers assigned to personnel development and planning and research. On this chart, all everyone is a sworn police officer with the exception of the Security Resources Operations Manager and those beneath him, police communications personnel, the communications technician, and the evidence custodian.
