Citizen Feedback – The University of Alabama Police

The University of Alabama Police Department seeks to serve the UA community with pride, professionalism and excellence on every call and with every contact. The quality of our service is dependent in part on feedback from the community.

In order to provide better service, we welcome your feedback, commendations and complaints of officers or the department. Please know that all complaints will be investigated thoroughly and appropriate corrective action will be taken when warranted.

There are numerous ways you may submit a complaint, commendation or feedback to UAPD:

Telephone UAPD at 205-348-5454 and speak to a supervisor to request a complaint form be mailed to you.

I understand that I am filing a complaint that will be investigated by The University of Alabama Police Department. I understand that each complaint is taken seriously and that the investigation may take weeks or months, depending on the complexity of the case. I understand that I may have to speak with investigators or make written statements concerning my complaint. I understand that the Alabama Criminal Code, section 13A-10-9 states, "A person commits the crime of false reporting to law enforcement authorities if he knowingly makes a false report or causes the transmission of a false report to law enforcement authorities of a crime or relating to a crime." I understand that I will be notified of the findings of the investigation.
