RESOURCES

STUDENT CARE AND WELL-BEING

Student Care and Well-Being, or SCWB, provides assistance and case management for students in crisis, and outreach to parents and families. The staff in this area coordinates a range of services to assist students with issues and concerns that may interfere with their academic success.

The SCWB On-Call Deans provide support and assistance to students in need of emergency, after-hours crisis care, including those who have been transported to local hospitals. These SCWB staff members are on call 24-7, 365 days a year to support students experiencing unexpected emergencies. When notified, SCWB also follows up with the student to provide support, connect them to campus resources, and, if necessary, to send an instructor notification if the student will miss class.

Contact SCWB at 205-348-2461 or bamacares@ua.edu.
