UAPD Responds to Campus Assault

UPDATE to the July 12th campus incident:

As of 12:07 PM on Thursday, July 13th, the suspect from the below incident is in police custody.

UAPD Campus Safety Advisory: Reported on-campus assault – July 12, 2023

The University of Alabama Police Department responded to a report of an assault and possible sexual assault on campus shortly before 8 p.m. A female UA student reported being assaulted and knocked to the ground near the intersection of University Blvd and Devotie Dr. The victim sustained minor injuries. The suspect fled on foot, then got into a vehicle, leaving campus and driving east on Jack Warner Parkway.

The appearance of the suspect as reported to UAPD was:

Hair: Short hair

Age: Around 20-25 years old
Clothing: Grey shirt, black sweat pants

Vehicle Info: Silver Nissan SUV
