UAPD Responds to Off-Campus Incident (UPDATED)

The incident reported below was determined to be an accidental discharge of a firearm that occurred off-campus

First responders were called to an area near the stadium at approximately 12 a.m. Saturday, April 24. A non-UA individual traveling in a car reported an accidental non-life-threatening gunshot injury to their leg that occurred off campus.

UAPD is working with Tuscaloosa Police to continue gathering information. There was never a related threat to the campus community.

While not required by the Clery Act for timely warnings, some incidents that happen off campus may be sent to the campus community in the interest of public safety.
