Funeral services for late Tuscaloosa Mayor Al DuPont, a WWII veteran, are expected to include a 21-gun salute and helicopter flyover at Evergreen Cemetery behind Bryant Denny Stadium between 4 and 5 p.m. today. We appreciate and honor his service to our country and community.

Police Investigate Off-Campus Shooting

A suspect was apprehended and charged for the off-campus shooting on July 14th. This case is closed.

Police responded to an off-campus shooting that occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. Sunday, July 14, 2019, in the area around Moe’s BBQ and the federal courthouse at the 2100 block of University Blvd.

Two suspects in an older model black mid-size Chevrolet pickup truck fired multiple rounds into a black sedan. One female victim was struck and has been admitted to DCH Hospital.

University of Alabama police responded to an on-campus armed robbery and assault that occurred at approximately 2:15 am Saturday, March 23, 2019, in the area in front of Lakeside West. The suspect was apprehended shortly after. The victim received only minor injuries.

Gas Main Rupture- Repairs in Progress- *Updated*

The all-clear was given as the situation with the gas main was resolved. 

UA Safety Advisory: A gas main was ruptured around Mary Harmon Bryant Hall at approximately 1:20 a.m. For safety concerns, UAPD evacuated the area and set up a perimeter extending from 6th Ave. East to Devotie Drive and University Blvd. to Margarget Drive.

Crews are on site. Repairs are in progress, but please avoid the area until further notice.

Public Safety Notice- Off Campus Shots Fired 01-26-2019

Tuscaloosa Police and UAPD responded around 9:20 p.m. to a reported stolen vehicle in the off-campus area of Oakwood Ave. The suspects crashed the stolen car and fired three shots as they ran. No injuries were reported. The suspects fled westbound on foot and are still at large.

Law Enforcement Investigate Robbery Near Campus 10-14-2018

Off-campus robbery 10.14.18

Around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, multiple suspects demanded money from a victim just outside Rounders Bar on University Blvd. The victim was assaulted and approximately $200 was taken by the suspects. No weapon was used in the robbery. The suspects fled in separate directions and some suspects were apprehended shortly after, but others may still be at-large.

Suspects were described by the victim as black males. No other identifying information was provided by the victim as of this time.

Public Safety Notice – Off-campus shooting 9-16-18

Tuscaloosa Police and UAPD responded to an off-campus shooting that occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at Another Broken Egg on Jack Warner Parkway. One person, a student leaving the restaurant, was shot in the arm but not seriously injured. The victim appears to be an innocent bystander. The suspect was arrested right away. There is no danger to the campus community.

Tuscaloosa police responded to an off-campus armed robbery that occurred at approximately 3:20 am Saturday, July 14, 2018, in the 300 block of Grace Street near Preston Place Apartments. The victim was robbed at gunpoint and cash and a cell phone were taken. There were no injuries, and the two suspects drove away in what was described as a white SUV.

UAPD responded to an off-campus robbery that occurred at approximately 12:30 am on Monday, May 28, 2018, in the 300 block of Reed Street. The victim was robbed at gunpoint and a laptop was taken from their bag. There were no injuries and the two suspects drove away in a green SUV.
