Robbery Incident March 3, 2023

The University of Alabama Police Department responded to a robbery report on campus just before midnight on March 3, 2023.

The victim reported two suspects entered a residence hall at Burke East and stole personal property after threatening the occupant. No injuries or weapons were reported. At the time of the report, the suspects were being pursued off campus.

UAPD Responds to On-Campus Robbery

UPDATE ON 9/28 INCIDENT

After further investigation, UAPD has determined that the incident reported on 9/28 was not a robbery, and the incident has been downgraded to Harassment. The victim’s property was found at the location of the incident.

The University of Alabama Police Department responded to a robbery report on the morning of September 28th at approximately 1:30AM. The incident occurred near the intersection of McCorvey Drive and Hackberry Lane, near Lakeside Dining. The victim was struck in the head and his Airpod headphones were stolen. There were 3 suspects reported to be involved with a possible 4th driving the vehicle. The suspects drove away in a dark sedan, possibly a black BMW. There were no additional injuries reported.

Concerns About Human Trafficking

*****CONCERNS ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING***** The safety of our students is our highest priority at The University of Alabama. UAPD is thoroughly investigating the situation, but have seen nothing to suggest there is a link to human trafficking. UAPD has gathered information from several individuals and continue to collect information as people come forward regarding this situation.  Thus far, no evidence or information has been found to support fears that this is in any way tied to human trafficking.  If you see or hear anything that may contribute to this investigation, please contact UAPD at 205-348-5454. 

University Police Investigate Theft – 05/30/14

UNIVERSITY POLICE INVESTIGATE THEFT

The University Police are investigating a theft that occurred in the 500 block of Campus Drive. On May 30, 2014 at approximately 12:30 am, one individual reported he was a victim of a theft. The victim reported that four suspects occupying a green Jeep Cherokee drove passed him as he was walking along Campus Drive, then shortly returned and stopped near him.  Two suspects exited the vehicle and asked to use the  victim’s cell phone, and victim allowed them to use it.  The suspects then entered the vehicle and fled the area with the victim’s cell phone still in their possession.  The victim sustained minor injuries as he tried to grab one of the fleeing suspects. The suspects are described as follows:Suspect 1:

University Police Investigate Robbery – 04/27/14

UNIVERSITY POLICE INVESTIGATE ROBBERY

The University Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue. On April 27, 2014 at approximately 2:50 am, two individuals reported that they were the victims of a robbery. The victims reported that the suspect approached them from behind, pointed a pistol at them and told the victims to give him their money. The victims complied and the suspect fled the area northbound on Fraternity Lane. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as follows:Suspect:

  • Male
  • Dark complexion
  • Slim build
  • Approximately 5’09”
  • Wearing a black hat, red shirt and tan cargo shorts
  • Possibly occupying an older model sedan
